![]() The ones with the cut would work in all second and third series guns. ![]() The factory made the third series mags both with and without the mag catch cut-out. I can't tell from the photo if the cut out in the bottom mag for the mag catch is an aftermarket modification or factory original. Both mags should function properly in your pistol. The other magazine looks like a factory Colt magazine made some time during third series production and made to work with either second (push button mag release) or third (heel type latch) series guns. The magazine with the aluminum thumb piece would be correct for this second series pistol. ![]() I think you got a good deal, certainly not an unfair deal. ![]() ![]() As noted above, second series Match Targets with the 4.5 inch barrel are considerably harder to come by than the six inch models, or either of the third series Match Targets. I would not have hessitated to pay $800 for it, from what I can see of it's condition. Was the pistol in the picture of 50 years ago this very pistol you bought from your friend, or just another one like it? Either way, looks like a very nice gun. ![]()
